SPAN is able to assist seniors in a variety of ways. Dallas-area seniors with demonstrated need may apply for financial assistance or subsidies for veterinary care, grooming, or pet food. We are also able to provide suggestions of other Dallas-area animal welfare organizations to assist in providing new homes for pets that can no longer stay with their owners. Future plans for SPAN include the ability to offer in-home assistance with pets and the temporary care of pets when owners are hospitalized, as well as providing transportation to and from veterinary clinics and other pet-related errands for seniors who are homebound. When funding and volunteer resources allow for these options, we will announce that option here.
