Aunt Louise’s Pet Pantry

A generous donor helped fund SPAN’s newest initiative – Aunt Louise’s Pet Pantry – in memory of Louise Miller, a cherished aunt whose passion was caring for animals. The program provides pet food for low-income seniors who need assistance in feeding their animal companions.

We are excited to include Del Monte Foods Company as a contributor to the Aunt Louise Pet Pantry. A total of 6,100 pounds of pet food has been donated. In October 2009, SPAN volunteers began delivering to clients throughout the Dallas area, from Cedar Hill to Frisco, and an emergency supply of pet food was stored at Seniors Source to enable caseworkers to give immediate assistance to those in need.
